I just got back from the doctor’s office where he confirmed that yes, I am now twelve weeks pregnant.  His scale also confirmed that I didn’t lose any weight in the last week. But really cool was getting to hear the baby’s heartbeat for the second time-the first for Jeff.  I get to have another ultrasound at the end of September and we will try to find out if it is a boy or a girl.  I want a girl, Jeff wants a boy and all the grandparents want a healthy first grandchild.  All except Jeff’s dad who wants a grandchild that arrives on time, as in on February 11 which is his birthday. Thanks for some of the info, I will go check it out later.  Right now I am downloading some dragon pictures from a website.  In case y’all didn’t know I have a weakness for anything with fish or dragons on it.  Go figure.  I’ll have to tell all of you about my sorority room experience some other time. Actually, my doctor wants me to lose some weight.  He has me on an exercise program so that I don’t end up with gestational diabetes.  Ideally he said, in about two months or so I should stall out and end up staying the same and maybe gaining back ten pounds.  The idea is that while I am putting on baby weight I will be losing the other stuff. He was actually pleased because his scale registered that I had lost six pounds since my checkup in June.  I just didn’t lose any weight from last week was all. — Foggy 195/179/130

Well, pregnancy is definitely not the time to lose weight, but you can still use your healthy WOE, just with higher amounts.  I lost weight the first 20 weeks of my pregnancies just because of severe nausea, but it sure didn’t stay off. Congratulations on your pregnancy!  Have you checked out the mailing lists on www.pregnancytoday.com ?  It really is helpful to talk to other women going through what you’re going through.  The mailing lists that I was on for both of my pregnancies are still together, though one had to change to onelist.
