Question:

Pete the hospital cat caught a mouse!!! Unfortunately I was not there to see it.  I heard it from Mike, a coworker of mine.  He had walked into the breakroom and saw Pete staring intently at something behind a box.  Pete pounces and Mike sees Pete holding a mouse in his mouth. Mike stares open mouthed for a moment while Pete tosses the mouse up in the air and bats it across the room.  The mouse hits the floor, stunned and runs back behind the box.  Pete then hunkers down, staring at the box   First one side, then he would run around to the the other side.  Eventually he caught the mouse again and proceeded to bat it around, pick it up in his mouth and bat it again. Finally, Mike came to his senses and tried to get Pete to stop.  Pete still was batting the mouse around and had it in his mouth when Mike picked him up by the scruff with one hand and held out a cup with his other. "Pete, drop it!  Drop the mouse!!"   Remember when Sylvester the cat would shove Tweety Bird in his mouth and suddenly would get picked up by someone who would slap him on the back and he would spit out Tweety? That’s kinda close to what this looked like.  Mike is holding Pete by the scruff and holding out a cup, trying to get Pete to open his mouth and drop the mouse in to the cup. Finally, Pete relented and spit out the mouse, who somehow had managed to be unharmed throughout this whole thing.  Mike then took the mouse outside and let it go. Man, I so wish I could have been there.  Pete was in a sulky mood for the rest of the afternoon. Su-Ling the Siamese is back.  If she’s not curled up taking a nap, she’s howling for attention.  I gotta admit, she is a beautiful kitty. We also have Mao, a BIG white kitty who is boarding.  Mao has diabetes, probably from being so overweight.  He’s about the size of a small frozen turkey.  The chart said he was 14 pounds, but I don’t buy that.  When he meatloafs, it’s like the meatloaf is on steroids. sheesh!!  But he is cute. I finally get two days off from working at the clinic.  It’s quite tiring, but at least I’ll be able to relax for two days.  Then I have to work at 7 am on Saturday.  *sigh* Take care, Kristi

I would LOVE to have seen that.
