Neuropathy

Question:

Neuropathy may be caused by nerve irritation and Chiropractic can fix that if there is no permanent damage.      Just had a patient who was diagnosed with HIV related neuropathy.  He doesn’t have it anymore because of a combination of chiropractic, acupuncture, massage and……throwing out his orthotics that didn’t fit correctly.      Problem is….he has a diagnosis….HIV….and everything that happens to him now and forevermore will be blamed on his "diagnosis".  No one will look any further but will connect it with HIV.  Fortunately he is an R.N. and has enough sense to think for himself.  Any questions, email me.  Good luck.      See ya!       ;  )    Lynn Kelly, D.C. Have you tried hydrotherapy using Chamomile?  Another thing I would use is  proanthenols.  They are an anti-oxidant much more effective that just Vitamin C and Vitamin E.  Also, find an excellent vitamin and mineral supplement that includes all the trace minerals such as a colloidal mineral supplement.  Eat plenty of yogurt with live cultures or supplement with Acidophilus.  Take a good Calcium and Magnesium supplement with Vitamin D3 and Boron in it.  Use about 2,000-3,000 mg of that per day.   Proteolytic enzymes and multidigestive enzymes are also very helpful. If you don’t have a good quality source, email me and I will tell you what we use.  My husband has Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy and we have used many different brands of supplements.  We have found that quality and synergistics are very important when choosing your products.  Sad to say, some of the products out there just aren’t very good.  When you are sick, you want to get something that really works.  Health is very important to quality of life. Email me for me info and I would be glad to help you. cindy

<<I am looking for alternative or conventional treatment options for periferal neuropathy.  Any suggestions would be appreciated. Alpha-lipoic acid, a normal cell constituent and nutrient (found in foods and supplements), is an approved "drug" in Germany for the treatment of diabetic polyneuropathy. Phillip Low, MD, at Mayo, recently told me that it is also of benefit in neuropathies related to heavy metal poisoning. Dosages range from 200-600 mg/day…but as always, it’s probably best to work with a physician on this to avoid any interactions with other things you might be taking. Do you know the cause of the neuropathy?      These are my opinions only, but they’re almost always correct.      "The difference between a printing press and a modern digital long-       distance network is that the press produces money much more slowly."                                     — Neil Kirby, Lucent Technologies

I have had very good results with energy therapy (specifically Reiki) with a variety of neuropathy and neruesthesia (is that a proper word?) cases resulting from carpal tunnel, diabetes, surgery, etc. If the myelin is still intact, many of these acute neural problems respond with only one treatment. If the underlying cause is chronic (like diabetes), the treatments should be ongoing to repair the recurring damage. If you would like more information, please email privately and I can try to connect you with a therapist or instructor in your area. After a few treatments to see if the problem is responsive to the therapy, I usually recommend my clients take some beginning training in energy work so thay can do their own self-treatment. It is far less expensive that way for the chronic cases, and it gives them a sense of empowerment about their own wellness. — The Light Touch – holistic therapies for stress management and wellness Visit our website: http://home.sprynet.com/sprynet/nimloth/
