Very interesting!! Thanks for the post. — Cheers! I suspect that the LCD’s in BG meters, which are low voltage, are more sensitive to the misalignment that freezing can do to the crystals than an LCD in a car dash, for example, which is a higher-voltage unit. The higher drive voltages can more easily pull the crystals back into proper alignment. HTH

You might also ask the company to send you a sensor tester for your meter. I recently called the company that makes Precision,as I questioned some readings, and they sent me out a bottle of the control solutions(which I still havent used) as well as a testor to test the electric sensor-mine worked fine it turned out… though of course, remember that the difference between the meter and your plasma reading can be 20 points or so.  Nevertheless,I did actually have two of the same readings once(53/53) Marilyn

yup….. i had a meter get stuck on 8.8 for everything…… the    LCD display went haywire and that’s all that would show up…. 14    day avg…. last reading…. 30 day avg…. That one makes serious sense, 8.8 is simply "ALL ELEMENTS ON" on the LCD but the 131 or 113 (mg/dl of course) is not at all the same thing.    Note I am not a doctor, I don’t even play one on television "Nothing adds excitement like something that is none of your business" Using a Java script enabled browser go to:  http://go.compuserve.com/diabetes Also visit http://members.tripod.com/diabetics_world/ for still more info. I got home & took a reading before dinner it was 131 (my brothers QID read 83) my ha1c is 6.1, I called Abbott labs, their sending me a new one, anyone had this happen?

Not with a Precision, but I’ve had it happen with a Bayer Glucometer. I now use two meters on alternate days to eliminate it happening again. Beav
