If you cannot refrigerate your vial of insulin, you can store it for 28 days if kept below 86 degrees F (30 degrees C). Do not allow it to freeze and keep it away from direct heat or light. After you have used your cartridge of regular insulin for the first time, keep it stored in the pen, but do not refrigerate. Store your pen and cartridge below 86 degrees F (30 degrees C) and away from direct heat or light.
