Actually, it’s been proven in many studies that two or so cups of coffee a day has a BP *lowering* effect, because caffeine is a diuretic. However, more than that and the stimulant properties negate the diuretic properties, and the heart palpitations and sweats start along with increased BP, etc. *sigh* I really do miss my 8 or 10 huge mugs of coffee a day, along with the 3 packs of cigarettes I used to smoke in between!
