Fat or Fit? You Are What You Eat! by Dr. Tony Vendryes Every day the average person puts 3 to 5 pounds of stuff into their stomach. This ‘food’ is digested and absorbed to provide for the needs of our body – nourishment and energy.

This sounds as if eating 3 to 5 pounds of the "right" stuff daily is a good thing.  Not true. Eating too much is just as bad as eating the wrong things.  Too many calories = weight gain leading to cardio vascular disease, Metabolic Syndrome, Diabetes, etc. The average moderately active person needs around 2-3 pounds of nutritious food daily.  Recent studies have shown, in fact, that UNDEReating actually tends to prolong life!
