Dog WON'T stop drinking water!
Question:
Get her to a vet right away. If it’s diabetes and left untreated she’ll get very sick. I didn’t notice the excess drinking when my lab got sick, but she was waking me up in the middle of the night to go outside. I just thought she was getting old. She ended up with numerous complications and several thousand dollars later (and years) she’s ok. jen. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – My dog (Rottweiler) has never been much of a big drinker and she has urinated in the basement (where she is when we’re not home) in several years. She’s been able to hold it for 8-10 hours if necessary. In the last week or so she has started drinking like crazy, even waking us up at night so she can go outside and drink out of her bucket there. She has urinated several times in the basement during this span. Her appetite seems a little less than normal, too. Oh, my dog is 5 years old. Any ideas?

Doesn’t sound good, maybe diabetes? Any behavioral changes, lamesness in hind legs, panting? Best to have her checked by a vet. buglady take out the dog before replying
