Deep hypoglycemia
Question:
I’ve suffered from some very deep hypos lately. I have the feeling that – when I’m having a hypo – it’s deeper than before in general. I do not take more insulin, nor do I eat less carbohydrates or have more physical exercise. It’s not that I’m having *more* hypos than before, it’s just that they’re *deeper* than before. What can be causing this? Regards, Michael. !! Please send binaries via E-mail

Have you changed your eating, exercise, or insulin brand lately? Are you under stress?

Actually, I do not think that any of the things you mention changed lately. I really do not understand where those deep hypos come from. It’s not that I’m under stress at the moment, but two weeks ago I had some exams, which caused a lot of stress. Some days afterwards, deep hypoglycemia started. It is possible that there’s a relation? !! Please send binaries via E-mail

I’ve suffered from some very deep hypos lately. I have the feeling that – when I’m having a hypo – it’s deeper than before in general. I have to ask what you mean by "Deeper" Are you testing? If so what are your numbers? (Also what meter do you test with, it makes a difference) Or is it just that before you noticed hypos fairly early on and now you don’t notice them till far later? In the second case there are some assorted suggestions. One is to slightly increase your BG target, Note, this is especially if you have changed meters lately (IS your meter PLASMA or WHOLE blood calibrated) Second is species of insulin, Beef seems to give better hypo warnings than Pork, which is better than "Human" (Synthetic) if you can still get Beef There are more too. Search either the US National Institute of Health or the Combined Health Information Database (Also us gov site) using the keywords of Hypoglycemia AND unawareness for more information on this.
