Response:

I have Charcoat Foot now in remission.  It occured three years ago this weekend just before boarding a plane to Philadelphia.  I walked around on it for two weeks and then my internist doctor didn’t know what it was.  He sent me to four other specialists.  Then my diabetes doctor’s nurse finally told me what it was and how to care for it.  They sent me to a diabetes-specialized foot doctor.  I wore three different casts for 19 months and now have a round protusion on the bottom of my right foot.  Working with a specialized shoe shop, I now wear both dress and gym shoes with inserts that have a dpression to match the boittom of my right foot.
