Lurk before you leap! If you were to actually read this ng for a while, you will note three things: 1. Melynda has more knowledge about this disease than most 2. Melynda is also a poet; sometimes her non technical posts take a bit of work to read. 3. Melynda is a very well loved member of this group and your uncalled for attack is bound to get flamed. Do BG Readings flucuate in the summer, because of the heat outside
8AM – 12hr fast BG = 95 (DEX) 2 hours working the garden in the sun and heat at 80F degrees Consumed 64 ounces of water while in the garden Came inside and tested BG = 159 (DEX) This had happened before but was not sure if it was caused by the Crystal Light I was drinking at the time. This time I only consumed water. Andrew J. Gnoza, III 12/31/1998 - 288/237/199

I’ve found that my readings have definitely been higher with the hot weather. On a previous post, someone suggested that slight dehydration from the heat may cause the blood to be thicker than normal, and thus have a higher concentration of sugar. I’ve been wondering this too. My BGs have been higher ever since the warmer (no, make that ungodly hot) weather started. However, because it’s so hot, my activity level is lower — so — maybe both things are contributing to it? Sandi (T2 diag 11/98, no meds)
