Best Technical Book On Exercise/Diabetes ??
Question:
does anyone know of book (or article) that explains physiology sufficient for me to understand why.
I’m not sure if it explains exactly what you want, but I’ve found _Clinical Diabetes Mellitus_ by John K. Davidson to be an excellent reference source.
Response:
What is the best technical book (mg/dl and physiology) on exercise and insulin. If I exercise (run 2.5 miles, then swim .5 miles … roughly 420 Kcals total) with levels high (around 200 or slightly above) at the beginning … (and enough regular to lower to normal … around 1 unit per 30 mg/dl to be lowered … 4 units total ) I still end up with high reading after exercise … second reading around 2 1/2 hours after taking 4 units regular. does anyone know of book (or article) that explains physiology sufficient for me to understand why. By the way, I know this is not abnormal and exercise with high initial readings both decrease performance and may not lower mg/dl but I have no idea of mechanics or ratios etc. thanking you in advance
