Rick, Thanks for the response. My doctor just did a three day pulse to see how well I tolerated Solumedrol. (I did have ON in 1985, but not this go around.) The second pulse was administered because I wanted to be ALL BETTER; my spasticity and weakness had only subsided partway. Admittedly, I was living in a fool’s paradise thinking "if some worked partway, more will complete the job." The nurse was surprised at the quick follow-up pulse, saying usually 2-3 months goes by before another dose. I regret that second dose, as it seems to have led to cholesterol rise and onset of type II diabetes…. and no improvement of legs, sigh. Well, we live and learn. Thanks again for all your research and good info, Rick. Dale

The proximity of the two "pulses" seems odd. I have normally found that a re-administration of a complete 5 day protocol is not done sooner than 6 months. The alternative CP therapy for once-a-month 1000mg seems to be gaining popularity. The literature seems to support the 3 day protocol for idiopathic ON only. -Rick
