Pork Rinds in Canada..????

Categories: Diabetes Type

Question:

Thanks for everyone’s replies. I will call the distributor tomorrow. We *do* have a Walmart here in Canada. I will check to see if the "Rudolph’s" brand is available.  Thanks again!

Yes and I really hate having to come out of my igloo and travel clean across the country on my sleigh to shop at *the* Wal-Mart. Regards. Rob

Have you tried cheese chips yet? I get Kraft Extra Cheddar cheese slices at my local IGA or Extra Foods (they are cheese slices that have only 1g carb. They aren’t individually plastic-wrapped like regular cheese slices.) I cut them up into little squares (I’ve gotten up to 16 squares per slice) and lay them on parchment paper. Then I microwave them for anywhere from one to two minutes. They turn nice and crispy. I’ve also added a little seasoning salt for more of a BBQ chip taste. HTH! Michelle

Now I can’t find them in any of the local stores for the life of me! Other brands have MSG, and carb-laden additives, seasonings, etc. Can anyone reccommend a decent alternative? I need something crunchy to satisfy the munchy ;-) Happy New Year, everybody.

Has WalMart invaded Canada yet?  <g  WalMart (in US) carries a brand called "Rudolph’s).  Ingredient list says "pork rinds and salt".  That’s it, no additives. Alpha

The Old Dutch ones are available here in Ontario (I think they’re made in Cambridge.) Next time I buy a bag I’ll make note of the address. Sometimes if you write – they’re happy to make sure you get them. Might be a case of supply and demand though and shipping costs to BC might be too high. Lynne

I get them (Old Dutch Bacon Puffs) at IGA and Co-op stores. I’m in Calgary. You might call the Old Dutch distributor — the stores will give you the number. — Diagnosed Type II Diabetes March 5 2001 Beating it with diet and exercise! 297/215/210 (to be revised lower) 58"/43"(!)/44" (already lower too!) Well, in Eastern Ky, you can buy pork rinds uncooked in a bag like microwave popcorn.  You put the pork rinds in a microwave and pop them like popcorn.
