BOOK: Stories wanted from women who continued pregnancies against medical advice
Question:
Have YOU Continued a pregnancy or given birth against medical advice? Know someone who did? An Australian friend and I are soliciting stories for a forthcoming book – an international collection of first-hand stories from women who resisted medical opinion, for reasons of maternal and/or fetal health, to continue their pregnancies/have their babies. If anyone is interested in contributing to this book, please see our website www.defiantbirth.com for more information and contact details. Philippa New Zealand –

No. I enjoy being alive too much, and don’t dislike children enough to do something that would leave them orphaned. — "Did Father shoot him? I will eat Grandfather for dinner." – Helen Keller, on learning of the death of her grandfather

Amen. This reminds me of "Steel Magnolias", and Julia Roberts character, who had type 1 diabetes. I think that her doctor had advised her not to have kids, but she did anyway. It wrecked her kidneys and she later died. The kid barely knew her!
