<<Can someone tell me when the Bg level is maximum after a meal ? Thank you Usually, about 90 minutes or so, but depending on you and the type of diabetes you have and the type of medications you take and the exercise you get, it could be from about half an hour to about 3 hours. As you can see there are many variables. Set yourself up a chart showing the time and the bg reading you get from your meter. Do a stick when you wake up about 90 minutes before lunch, about 90 minutes before dinner and then when you have your evening snack. These are rough estimates of time, but the record will show how you react to what you eat, which is vital information to you. Martin

It depends on what you’ve eaten, how much you’ve eaten, and how long the meal lasted. (i.e. Was it a quick meal or did you spend an hour at the table?) My understanding is that *generally speaking*, bg peaks from 30 to 60 minutes after eating. But remember, the exact timing & process vary with each individual, as well as per the amount & composition of the meal.
