|| Hi, ||
|||| It does exist, but it isn’t a currently active thread. Check the |||| headers. The message Terry Dunkle (the owner of the program) is |||| replying to is from November 2003. ||| ||| Oh, wow. OTOH in usenet-land, that means it effectively doesn’t ||| exist
|| || Very true. <G || ||| And I thought I was doing pretty good with one month retention ||| times. || || Oh, I didn’t get this from my box. I do have an archive of certain || newsgroups, but in this case I just used Google when I saw there was || a "Reference" message ID in his headers to see the whole thread. || If you’re looking for a server with good retention time the German || one (Individual.net) acquits itself very well. || || Take care, || Carmen || — Just FYI, I was using individual.net for a time and thought it was ok. Then I moved last month (to Williamsburg, VA) I switched to Cox cable as my ISP and tried their news server. I was amazed at: (1) how fast I was receiving new posts compared to individual.net, which sometimes tooks hours or even a day before I would receive them, and (2) how many ASDLC posts I had been missing on individual.net that are coming through on the Cox news server. I have no idea if these issues are regional, global, or were some how related to my ISP’s upstream servers. OTOH, I’ve kept individual.net as a backup, and it still has other advantages. It carries virtually all newsgroups, while Cox is limited. — Peter 270/219/180 website: http://users.thelink.net/marengo

If you go to http://siestasoftware.com/freeware.htm and download Food Composition, you’ll essentially have the USDA database at your fingertips – not only carbs and calories but fats and proteins as well. Aramanth

The only problem I had with Diet Power was linking stuff at work with stuff at home. I had to write down what I ate at work and enter it in at home. They provide a way to use a disk, but this didn’t really work. Maybe they’ve fixed that by now. — Bob in CT
