T2 & Slimfast?

Categories: Diabetes Diet

Question:

Hi, Just wondered if any T2s out there had managed to loose weight and keep their BG under control using Slimfast products? The Slimfast web-site says it has been done but advises you to talk to your doctor first (probably sound advice for any diet I guess). Cheers Fred (getting desperate to get some weight off!)

Response:

My sister was tyring that (she’s 17 and built liek a model, but you know how girls are), and I tasted it, it’s stinking, I know it easier said than done but you’re better off running round the block everyday, presumbing you’re able to. Slimfast tastes exactly how you’d imagine it to, like crap and really doesn’t fill you up at all, I’m sure if you had and nothing else it’d work, but you’ll still be hingry. Stef

Dunno the answers to your questions but whenever I see/hear/think about Slimfast all that sticks in my mind is their ads I saw on US TV during a business trip; they were the same ones as we have in the UK (carefree, slim lady prancing on the beach etc..telling us about how wonderful the product is), but with small writing in the bottom right hand corner of the screen stating ‘Results not typical’. As per one of my previous posts, I’m looking into claims about HCA (Citrimax) + Chromium, based on some case studies in a book I was given for Christmas. NK

There is some info on that at Diabetes UK with a link to the BMA publication mentioning it. www.diabetes.org.uk HTH Ratty — Type 2 since 93 Can I get a new pancreas under the warranty? This one’s burnt out….
