– Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Amazing what diabetics don’t tell their doctors, isn’t it???? Smiles, Natalie A. Sera, proud mother of Josh Natalie When was the last time you read your records? I had my records forwarded to me last summer. I could not believe the information my Dr.’s put in. One instance my husband and I were jokeing about a Dairy Queen run. (We took a Diabetes managment class after we were married) I said my main reason for taking the class was so Joe knew why I shouldn’t eat a blizzard ect… The nurse took from that I was a chocoholic. And had problems with chocolate binges. Not at all serious about my diet. I like chocolate but its not something I must have. Another reason you may want to check your records is to see if the drugs you are taking have been logged. I went through a series of blood presure medications. Trying to find one that wouldn’t cause side affects. None of this was logged, when I switched Dr. the new one wanted to try me on new BP medication. When I told him I went through all of this before and to check my records. He couldn’t find a thing. I don’t tell my Dr.s everything. But what I did tell them was alot of times taken in the wrong way. Margaret Dowd Chocoholic, and didn’t even know it!
Hmmmm….I wonder if my doctor might have my weight wrong in his records??!! Maybe I don’t REALLY need to loose any!! : ) : ) : ) Tari

Amazing to me was the time we were on aol (Sunday evenings, 5:30 PST) and a doctor had happened to drop by and we were discussing syringe reuse, and the doctor was JUST FLABBERGASTED! He had had NO IDEA we were doing that. Amazing what diabetics don’t tell their doctors, isn’t it???? Smiles, Natalie A. Sera, proud mother of Josh

I seem to recall that the NHS (UK National Health Service) cost-justified providing free disposable syringes to diabetics on the basis that they *would* be re-used a number of times. This meant that they were cheaper over the long term than the re-usable glass syringes which it had provided previously. Whether that’s actually true in practice is a different matter of course.
