French Fries 1/4 of US vegetable consumption!
Question:
But they might then go to Wendy"s Burger King, Dairy Queen, Arby’s IHOP, Bobby Rubino’s, Taco Bell, Baskin & Robbins, Domino, Krispy Kreme etc. etc.
Damn!
Response:
i’ve got a strange feeling that if all americans would suddenly stopped eating at mcdonalds we would all of a sudden become much thiner.
Really? I would think they would eat somewhere else, like wendy’s, burger king, or some other fast food place.
Response:
If you gain 2 lbs per year, that translates to eating only 20 calories per day more than you spend. A very tiny amount. Obviously, since most people do not count calories precisely, they just eat according to their internal self regulation process. And in some people, it is very slightly out of balance, which over the years would cause obesity.
You’re mistaken. Human self-regulation is typically structured to consider the prevalence of famine over the course of human history. While quite infrequent and practically irrelevant to the average American, these days, the fact is that physiology takes thousands of years to catch up with such a radical change in human circumstances. So rather, the typical person, if relying solely on self-regulation, SHOULD become obese over time, if the level of famine the person encounters is significantly less than the level that typical people have experienced over the last several thousand years. —
