For the AZ Low Carb-ers
Question:
Okay, Okay, I’ll De-Lurk. I’m from Mesa too. I just started the Atkin’s program again – (I started the last week of June and lost 9 lbs. in 7 days then slipped up when I had a birthday party for my Dad’s 70th birthday for 70 people with Mexican Food I cooked) Anyway I went a little crazy and gained all of that weight back so here I am again at the beginning – 190/189/145 started June 26th. I seem to lose easy, without hunger, without headaches or feeling yucky. I feel great on the induction diet. But I know I am very sensitive to carbs (gestational diabetes should have made me more aware of that). It seems that the hard part of this WOE for me is to really make it my WOE not my "diet". I am looking forward to the support of this group. My family is not supportive, my husband felt very deprived when he tried the diet and felt yucky for a few days. It also seems to him like a more expensive way to eat (i disagree) and frugal soul that he has, it is a problem. My teenage daughter thinks this diet is "weird".

Hi Laurie! Now there are two of us Laurie’s in AZ. Maybe we can call you "Laurie in Mesa," and me "Laurie who used to live in Mesa" so they can tell us apart! There’s also a Laura from AZ here too, we could call her "Laura who never lived in Mesa." =) Anyway, welcome to the newsgroup. You’ll find a lot of support (and a whole bunch of other Zonies) here. Hopefully your family will come around and be more supportive once they see how healthy you’re becoming on this WOE. In the meantime, you have all of us to help you along when you need it. ~Laurie Knots Landing Website: http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/Hills/4489/ RR Off Topic Website: http://www.geocities.com/SouthBeach/Port/1271/
